QUESTIONS: Here are frequently asked questions about giving online:
Q: I click Begin Giving Online and nothing happens?
When you click Begin Giving Online, a new browser window is opened. If you are using a pop-up blocker such as the Google Toolbar, Norton Internet Security, or Pop-Up Stopper, the window will not open. Most tools will allow you to permit pop-ups on a specific web site. In order to use the Giving area, you will need to allow pop-ups within CelebrationCovenant.com.
Q: When would this automatic contribution be charged to my account?
On the signup screens, you can specify whether you want your contribution made one time, weekly, twice per month, monthly, quarterly, or yearly. You can set up as many schedules as you would like, so it is possible to give a monthly gift as well as a weekly one.
Q: Can I test this by giving one time?
Yes. You may test Online Giving by selecting “One Time” in the frequency drop down box of the signup process.
Q: How can I keep a record of the amount I have contributed?
At any time you can view your record of "online" giving by viewing the Contribution History box. This will provide each donation you made, when you made it, and a year-to-date total. We also send year end statements directly to your home address.
Q: Can I give to the building fund (Favor the Dream/Breakthrough The Dream)
Yes, you will be asked to choose from the "General Church Fund" and/or "Favor The Dream/Breakthrough The Dream ."
Q: What if I change credit cards or want to change the amount of my contribution?
You can change your giving choices at any time through the "Scheduled Contributions" box found on the Giving page.
Q: Who do I talk to if I have more questions?
Contact our Finance Department at the church office 214-387-9833 and we'll be glad to answer any other questions you may have.
Q: What security is in place?
When you are entering and viewing Online Giving information you are using a secure server. All of your information is encrypted (in 128 bit encryption) prior to being transferred and sensative stored information is encrypted in our database. There is no stronger form of protection than encryption and by doing this, we eliminate the possibility that someone might "tap" the line and extract your personal data from it.
Q: What is 128- bit encryption?
128-bit encryption is 300 septillion times stronger than standard encryption. Browsers with standard 40 and 56-bit encryption make available billions of possible keys. 128-bit encryption means that there are 2128 billion possible keys to your information and every time you access the Fellowship servers the key is changed. 128-bit SSL encryption has never been broken and according to RSL Labs, it would take a "trillion-trillion years" to crack the code using today´s technology.
Q: Why do I hear about increased credit card fraud on line?
The increased fraud is due to the ease of using stolen credit card numbers on line, NOT stealing credit card info. For example, when you give your credit card to the waiter at your favorite restaurant, he/she has the opportunity to "take notes" and could then use the "stolen" information anonymously on line without a physical card.
